About Us
Welcome to AraCandles!
An Altar in a Haven
Ara means altar, a place set apart, however small, for presence, pause, and offering. It is where we return to ourselves. That idea sits at the center of everything we make.
AraCandles began in Yucaipa, California, with Carlos and Araceli Jimenez, who set out to build something quieter than the wellness industry usually allows. Araceli's own experience with food sensitivities and allergies led her toward cleaner ingredients, and in that search, something larger took shape: a belief that the spaces we live in shape how we feel, and that a home deserves its own small altar, a place to slow down, however briefly, and come back to what matters.
We think of each candle this way. Not as decor, and not as a trend, but as an invitation to create a haven within the everyday — a therapy room between sessions, a kitchen counter at the end of a long day, a corner of a home set aside for nothing but stillness. Ara exists to hold that space.
What We Make
Every product begins with the same intention: to support rest, grounding, and emotional reset through scent, without compromise on what goes into it. We work with coconut soy wax and ethically sourced fragrance, chosen for how they burn, how they feel in a room, and how they sit with sensitive systems and thoughtful homes alike.
Our offerings include hand-poured candles, reed diffusers for flameless spaces, wax melts, flameless candles for rooms that call for calm without an open flame, and car diffusers for carrying a moment of stillness into the rest of the day.
How We Work
Sustainability isn't a footnote for us. It shapes the materials we choose and the way we package what we make, from renewable and biodegradable components to packaging built to minimize waste. Craftsmanship matters just as much: each candle is poured with care, tested for how it holds a room, and made to be trusted, not just admired.
Sharing the Ritual
Ara also extends beyond our own shelf, into the hands of others who are building their own wellness spaces. Through private label, we partner with wellness businesses, retreats, and practitioners who want to offer their clients a candle made with the same intention: a thoughtful gift, a closing touch on a retreat, a small object of care with someone else's name on it.
Through our candle-making ritual experience, we bring that same intention into community. Each session is a chance to slow down, pour your own candle, and set an intention into it as you go, something to light later, in whatever space is yours, as a quiet reminder of what you named. It's less a workshop than a shared pause, one candle at a time.
Thank you for letting Ara be part of your ritual. We don't take that lightly.
